Meeting Time
The simple answer is 1st and 3rd Mondays of every month from 6:30 - 8:00 PM.
However, we do break for holidays, so in reality, we mostly meet on the 1st & 3rd Mondays of each month. Troop Board meetings are on 4th Mondays. Second Mondays are reserved for unit service projects, social events, or special badgework. You can request a copy of our calendar for the year when you attend a meeting.
Meeting Place
We meet at Calvary Hills Baptist Church. CHBC is located at the corner of Potranco & 1604.
The church address is: 910 W. Loop 1604 N., SA, TX 78251
Costs
Neither AHG national nor our local troop receives any funding from outside sources. All costs of running the troop and national organization come through donations, dues, and fundraising. Here's the an idea of the costs to join our troop:
National Registration (girl) - $30
Troop dues - $30 for the year
We are allowed to have up to 3 fundraisers as a troop. Participation is encouraged, but not mandatory. Unfortunately, due to IRS regulations, we can not give cash prizes (credit towards individual dues, special events, or registration). This year, due to high sales, we were able to use the money earned to lower troop dues and camping costs for every girl.
In addition to dues, girls will need to purchase a uniform and an AHG handbook (1 handbook per girl).
Certain special events may incur additional fees.
Parent Expectations
Parents of Pathfinder and Tenderheart aged girls are required to stay during meetings. Parents of Pioneer and Patriot aged girls are encouraged to stay, but not required.
Parents are expected to help by signing up for one of our many volunteer opportunities. These include organizing camping trips or service projects, leading a social event, teaching a badge, or becoming part of the ministry team through leadership.
Safety
Your daughter's safety is extremely important to us. Every registered leader undergoes Youth Protection Training and our troop maintains 2-deep leadership at all times. Once a girl becomes registered with National, she is covered under AHG's national liability policy.
