Being an American Heritage Girl doesn't mean it's all badgework all the time...

Some of the best parts of troop life are the social and outdoor events.

Our award ceremonies have traditionally been followed by potlucks. The last award ceremony of this past year was a full-fledged carnival

Units went hiking, coordinated a zoology badge day, hosted a Veggie Tales event, and competed in a field day. We also hosted a Mother-Daughter tea and Father-Daughter BBQ.

Our troop went camping twice last year! Our first trip was on the grounds of our charter organization and resulted in a lot of outdoor badgework being completed. For the second trip, we rented out a campground and hosted a multi-troop winter camp. This year, we are coordinating three camping trips, one fall & one spring family camping trip and one multi-troop girl event in February.

We regularly conduct flag retirement ceremonies and march in local parades. Last year we had the privilege of singing the National Anthem with other troops at a San Antonio Rampage game.

This year looks to be no different. Each unit has special activities planned for their girls that include receptions, parties, outdoor events, and camping opportunities.

Check out our calendar for an idea of what's to come!
