Although our troop meets in a Baptist church, AHG is an interdenominational organization that welcomes people of all faiths. Leaders are required to sign a statement of faith, but girls and their families are not. We have MANY denominations represented in our troop and on our troop board.

American Heritage Girls is an organization focused on loving God and living His values. This is displayed in our oath:

I promise to love God,
Cherish my family,
Honor my country,
and Serve in my community.

Our corporate vision also demonstrates a focus on God:

American Heritage Girls is the premier national
character development organization for young women that
embraces Christian values and encourages family involvement.

Our Troop Shepherd is responsible for praying for our girls and watching over the spiritual health of our troop. Our meetings open and close with prayer and may include a short devotional.

Every girl is encouraged to earn the spiritual award associated with her denomination. In addition, we have badges that are focused on building a girl's relationship with God. AHG also proudly celebrates Scout Sunday in our local churches.

Our troop was established on 1 Peter 3:3-4:

Let your beauty not be external – the braiding of hair and wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes –  but the inner person of the heart, the lasting beauty of a gentle and tranquil spirit, which is precious in God’s sight.
